FastCalendar lives entirely in your Mac's menu bar. The icon shows today's date, and one click opens a full month view with your events. There's no Dock icon and no window to manage.

FastCalendar requires macOS 15 (Sequoia) or later on Apple Silicon.

Basic usage

Left-click the menu bar icon to open the calendar. Click anywhere outside it (or press Escape) to close it.

• Today is marked with a solid red circle, and every day with events shows up to three dots in the colors of the calendars those events belong to.
• Click any day to see its agenda below the grid: each event with its calendar color, title, and start time. Long days show the first five events plus a "+ N more" line.
• Navigate months with the chevrons either side of the header, or press Today to jump back to the current month.
• Click the month name for a menu of all twelve months, or click the year to open a scrollable year grid in place.

FastCalendar shows events from every account you've added in System Settings → Internet Accounts (iCloud, Google, Exchange, and any other CalDAV account), exactly as they appear in Apple Calendar.

Right-click the menu bar icon for the menu: Settings… and Quit FastCalendar.

Keyboard shortcuts

With the calendar open:

Esc	Close the calendar

Moving the selection past the edge of the month follows into the previous or next month automatically.

Settings

Right-click the menu bar icon and choose Settings… to open the settings window.

The window lists every calendar on your Mac, grouped by account, each with a checkbox and its calendar color. Uncheck a calendar to hide its events from the dots and the agenda. This is handy for subscribed holiday calendars, shared team calendars, or anything else you don't need at a glance.

• Changes take effect immediately.
• Calendars you add later are shown by default.
• Your choices are stored locally on your Mac and affect only FastCalendar, never Apple Calendar or the calendars themselves.

Calendar access

FastCalendar asks for calendar access the first time it opens, and uses it read-only: it never creates, edits, or deletes events. If access is denied, the calendar still works; it simply shows no dots and an empty agenda. You can grant access at any time in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Calendars.
